Best Seat in the House

  1. Paradise - John Prine
Instagram is amazing because I found this song from a playlist that my first friend in Middle School posted. I haven’t spoken to this guy since 2010, yet he’s still influencing my life. Internet’s crazy, man. What a blessing

  2. Things I Can’t Change - The Story so Far
This is another one of those hot punk chick tracks. I was more into Title Fight around this time, but going back and exploring their contemporaries, you find some real gems. This cut off their sophomore LP is punchy, has a solid hook, and a fire drum track

  3. Girlfriend - Rebecca Black
When the Czar first heard this track he said it could be a Katy Perry joint. I think that’s just about as good of a compliment to any pop musician that you can give. Katy Perry was the biggest pop star in the world for a hot minute, and this track from Friday-famous Rebecca Black is a perfect pop track start to finish

  4. Younger - letlive.
This is, in my opinion, the most accessible track from my favorite band of all time, Southern California’s letlive. I am super protective of their music for fear of others not “getting it” more or less, so this is a big step for me. Be on the lookout for more appearances from them…

  5. Mixed Personalities - YNW Melly feat. Kanye West
I don’t listen to much Kanye these days, and I don’t really listen to too much Melly, but the beat to this track is just so infectious… Puts you in a good mood regardless of what’s going on around you

  6. The Medic - Foxing
This is one of those tracks that always makes me reflect on my past relationships. The looping machine on the hook paired with the repeated lyrics, “I just want to be loved,” strike a significant chord with me. Regardless of who we are or what the situation is, don’t we all just want to be loved?

  7. Ginseng Sullivan - Norman Blake
This song is so fun and cute. There’s a song called Little Satchel preformed by a man named Fred Cockerham which introduced me to this song via a Spotify radio playlist. Something about songs that mention the Delta, man, I’ll tell you what

  8. Babalon - Andrew W.K.
Recently Andrew W.K. announced a new engagement with Kat Dennings, which is bad news for every newly engaged couple as they immediately win most attractive cuffed couple of the year. Party Hard was my profile song on MySpace so you know I had to show love to the new joint from W.K.

  9. Ya Nabi Salam Alayka - Maher Zain
Ramadan was coming to a close when this playlist was in production so I was spinning a lot of Arabic music. Islam is a beautiful religion full of love and wisdom and peace. Call up someone you love and call them Habibi

  10. What More Can I Say - The Notations
I’m a huge Knxwledge/NxWorries fan so when I finally found the sampled track from their 2016 track of the same name, I had to include it. The trumpets on this track are just transcendent

Another day, another dollar. Hope you all had a week full of positivity and passion. Hit a kettlebell workout this week. Your hips will thank you in the long run, I promise.
