Spero Dedes Fan Club

  1. Fingers - Hundred Waters
This track is what I think floating in one of those deprivation tanks for a few too many minutes feels like. Spacey, ethereal, raw, all those missteps you made coming flooding back to you. But, through it all, there’s a certain element of hopefulness that makes me think it’ll all be okay in the end

  2. Spoiled Little Brat - underscores
I hope that first track didn’t lull you into thinking that this list was gonna be slow cause surprise mother fucker we boutta go up! A buddy of mine has been getting into Hyper-Pop recently and this is my favorite offering that I’ve been able to find. The synth track that reminds me of golden age Owl City is an absolute smash. Plus the drums on this one simply go

  3. Puff Daddy - JPEG Mafia prod. by Kenny Beats
Kenny Beats is probably one of the best producers in the game right now. I mean, he’s able to fit the vibe of the artist he’s working with perfectly. Denzel Curry, Rico Nasty, even Freddie Gibbs, man. JPEG makes music that sounds like it’s been put through a garbage disposal, and this cut is no different. The hook is so fun and disrespectful, gotta shout that one at the top of your lungs

  4. Ride the Wings of Pestilence - From First to Last
This song is so fucking good man. Not only is the song crazy good, but I have a 6 degrees of separation thing with it. My tattoo artist, Matt Manning (@oldmanmanning on Instagram), played guitar in the band. Another fun piece of trivia, Skrillex is doing the damn vocals on this one. Insanely good track, insanely fun background, for me at least. Not enough music like this being made these days in my opinion

  5. Tea for One - Led Zeppelin
This song is so self indulgent, so cool, so fucking Zeppelin it hurts. Did this track need to be 10 minutes long? No, probably not, but I’ll be god damned if I’m not listening to it straight through every time it comes up. Zep were the kings of that blues-rock hybrid and this track is another brick in that wall. Every member of the band is going so damn hard. Bonzo hits those cymbals hard as he can, Jimmy’s solos are ridiculous, JPJ is better than most at keeping everything together, and what can I even say about the Golden God, man. This one’s a highlight for me without a doubt

  6. Night Thieves (Chopped not Slopped) - Young Thug, Trouble, Slim K
If you’re like me and think Thief in the Night is on the short list of Young Thug’s best songs, but are disgusted by the fact that Slime Season 2 is not available on Spotify, rejoice, for Slim K makes it happen once again. Thug is someone that I’m okay not having any idea what he’s saying, and even when this shit is slowed to like .75x speed, I still can’t make out most of what he’s saying. Plus my friends and I love that bit where Trouble talks about keeping quiet. Sh, sh, shshshsh!

  7. On My Shit - Phony Ppl feat. Joey Bada$$
A fun little funky finisher this week. It’s funny because Joey Bada$$ is one of my favorite feature rappers, but I have never listened to an entire project of his front to back. That’s gotta stay between you and me, though, alright? I can’t have that getting out, who knows what kind of repercussions I’ll have to deal with…

Spero Dedes is a Greek-American sportscaster who I fucking love. He was in the NBA Bubble in Orlando last year, and he commentated one of the biggest, and one of my most favorite, plays of those Playoffs. I’m a huge Spero fan and I hope that I can bring more people into the Brotherhood of Dedesians
