Lunch Break
The Electric Version - The New Pornographers: If you played Rock Band for even one session this song is gonna be pretty familiar to you already. The chorus on this track is a crazy ear worm that’ll follow you around for days and get on your coworkers nerves cause you can’t stop humming the melody. There’s a reason they threw this bad boy on the damn game
Will I See You Again? - Thee Sacred Souls: That’s the question, isn’t it? When that bridge has been built and crossed, what comes next? A chapter being finished, a page being turned, but is the book ending? That’s the question, isn’t it?
Pretty Saro - Doc Watson: This song is beautiful man, I think if I could write in a fine hand I would probably write Saro a letter too. Poetry has never been my strong suit, though, and I feel like a beautiful woman deserves verse
Buzzed - ¿Téo? feat WILLOW: It’s Sunday. You just hit the outside workout. You clean your bong and buy a new bowl. You take that first rip of the day. You’re a little buzzed. Happy Sunday
Astral Empire - Dragonforce: You know I’ve been seeing a lot of hate towards Dragonforce recently on the metal subreddits. Everyone references Guitar Hero 3 and talks in terms of pre and post 2007. They say that power metal past 2007 doesn’t rip. They say that Dragonforce doesn’t rip. Bullshit man, this track is from 2017 and it’s Dragonforce. Checkmate
(Ghost) Riders in the Sky - The Ventures: Back to your regularly scheduled programming. Just had to prove a point back there, you know how that shit goes. Anyway this one is perfect for your travels through the Gerudo Desert on your way to kill your first Molduga. Just make sure you bring enough bomb arrows
Venice Queen - Red Hot Chili Peppers: This song feels like a love/hate relationship to me. The first movement reminds me of a rainy day, driving around trying to figure out why you still live in this shithole city that has nothing left for you. But then the rain stops and the sun opens up and you get a fire sandwich from your favorite local spot and you’re reminded that you need a couple rainy days every now and again to truly appreciate the sunny ones
Progress - Mavado prod. by DJ Khaled: A sort of running joke between me and my friends for a while, this song is actually pretty damn solid. Hailing from a time when DJ Khaled was the uncrowned King of Snapchat, right around when he got lost on the jetski. Like I said, this song accompanied about 9/10 of Khaled snaps, and it always seemed to be the first 5 seconds of the song, like he was starting it over whenever he was walking down the Pathway of More Success. Lion order!
Yes. I’m Ready - Barbara Mason: What a lunch break we’ve been sharing so far together. I’m almost out of pretzels and there’s only 2 orange slices left. It’s a hot one, but there’s not much left, no reason to dawdle.
Recently I’ve gotten into the habit of eating lunch at exactly 12pm. It seems a bit early, I know, but I was having a conversation about it with my pa. We were discussing how easy it is to fall into patterns, especially relating to food and sleep. I made sure to comment on how I get ornery easily when my patterns are broken. Don’t get between me and my turkey sandwich, I’ll say some really mean shit
