I Miss the Days Before Glizzie

  1. White Awakenning - Version 2 - Les Rallizes Dénudés

A worthy intro track to the dream I never want to wake up from

  2. Signs of You - The Churchills

Shout out @foundationcollegepark (check em out on the gram). Discovering new/expanding my knowledge on artists from before my time has been the highlight of this project for me. Super cool that the local shop put me on to this Churchills record.

“But you and me, we didn't get around.
Doing things that we both wanted to do”

  3. Perpetual Whirlwind - Rubba, De Wolfe Music

I’m scared this is what would play out of the Marshall guitar amp if my brain was plugged in

  4. Tales From The Trash Stratum - Oneohtrix Point Never

Someone ought to tell OPN before he gets any further into scoring the music for Pikmin 4 that the game is going to be rated E, not M

  5. Wind up Space - John Frusciante

A cut from a (maybe) lesser known Red Hot Chili Peppers member’s solo work (I’m pretty sure most people only know Anthony and Flea). Just prior to his album’s release, Frusciante gave up his drug abuse and rejoined RHCP after a regretful hiatus. Happier days were ahead.

But, it’s quite possible that some resistant anguish made it into this song. Frusciante croons over a nightmarish instrumental decorated by a (maybe) violent snare that more than likely is actually the sound of someone cracking a whip into the mic during the recording session.

Good track to play when your serotonin levels are on empty

  6. Eternal Life - Shira Small

Not me getting turned away at the entrance to heaven because I killed the playlist game

  7. Bran-New Lovesong - the pillows

I saw a Reddit post where someone made a video compilation of all the known “Akira Motorcycle Slide” replications in pop culture. Naturally I needed to stop what I was doing to watch it despite never having seen Akira. It was a cool compilation.

I thought the best-looking slide was the one featured in an anime called FLCL Alternative, which (of course) I had to then go read everything about. I learned this was the third installment of the FLCL series, which is this fucking weird Rickenbacker 4001 electric bass- and Vespa scooter-containing coming-of-age anime that has somewhat of a cult following for being short/sweet and having a great original soundtrack. A Japanese alt. rock band, the pillows, are responsible for that great soundtrack. This song stands out to me.

As Masahiro Sakurai would say: “Please, take a look”

  8. Always Forever - Cults

How did this one slip through the cracks?

Shouldn’t it be sitting beside MGMT’s Time to Pretend in the indie rock history books?

  9. Mir-Cam Startup - Giant Claw

Pulling from all my favorite sources this week.

Shout out Kerwin Frost. Much like his beautiful hats and clothing, he knows beautiful music. He had this impossibly ridiculous song, which sounds like the smallest chamber orchestra being sucked peacefully into a black hole, casually chilling in the background of one of his recent Instagram stories.

Am I the only one who notices these things?

  10. Colour Key - Jared Nathan Sweetman, Paul J. Borg

“I wake up every day and have moments in every single day of my life where I question myself…”

    I love you Kyle

  11. If Loving You Is A Crime (I’ll Always Be Guilty) - Lee Moses

If you’re reading this, you know it’s true.

*Attempts to wink, causing myself to wake up from the dream I never wanted to wake up from.*

    Sigh.
